I was very happy to be nominated for one of the Edinburgh University ‘breakthroughs of the year’ for the Falling Walls competition 2020. I didn’t win but was happy with my pitch, which used the Near Future Teaching project to make the point that resilient digital education futures are often assumed to be driven by the imaginaries of AI, personalisation and automation, but are in fact far more dependent on the creativity and conviction of faculty and students. I argued that the project did the groundwork for a new kind of digital education post COVID-19. Watch the video here.
