deckchairsMy sabbatical is now formally over and one of my sabbatical publications is out already:

Bayne, S. (2014) What’s the matter with ‘Technology Enhanced Learning’?. Learning, Media and Technology. DOI: 10.1080/17439884.2014.915851

I’m pleased to get this one published, as the over-use of  ‘TEL’  is something that’s been troubling me for a while. Learning, Media and Technology has been a terrific journal to publish in – the quality of peer feedback was really good, and turnaround times quick and efficient – thank you to editors Rebecca Eynon and Neil Selwyn.

My paper on posthumanism and education got too long for a journal article, so I’ve submitted it as a proposal to Palgrave Pivot – a really interesting new imprint that lets academics publish hybrid article/monographs as ebooks and hardbacks – perfect for my text which is shaping up well, but doesn’t easily fit the conventional publishing models. With a bit of luck Palgrave will accept the manuscript and it’ll be out sometime next year.
